Swinburne University Walk & Talk for Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students

Swinburne University Walk & Talk for Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students is being conducted on Wednesday 28 September from 10am to 1pm at Swinburne’s Hawthorn Campus.

Walk and Talk is an opportunity for students in Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 to discover the Hawthorn campus, view Swinburne’s facilities, find out about courses and tour areas specific to their course of interest.

The Hawthorn campus is Swinburne’s main campus and is modern, friendly and growing. It’s located right in the heart of the vibrant Glenferrie Road shopping and entertainment area.

This year Swinburne opened the new Student Services building and the $140 million Advanced Technologies Centre, a hub for innovative teaching and research. Walk and Talk is your chance to view these facilities for yourself – and explore the local area around the campus while you’re there.

The event will also include information sessions for both parents and students – and a chance to view our on-campus accommodation.

VTAC Application information – Monday 12 September

Extra Requirements: 

• Students applying for courses with Extra
  Requirements must complete those by the due dates stated in the VTAC Guide.
• Please check your VTAC application for the
  courses you have applied for, and complete Extra Requirements if you wish to be
  considered for those courses.

• If unsure about what to do for course Extra
  Requirements, see Mr Towers very soon.

• The first closing date for a lot of Extra
  Requirements is 30 September.

VTAC Application Fee Payment is required

• The cost of application is $25.  The fee must be paid by December 21^st 5pm.
• Payment is via Credit Card or Paypal through
  your VTAC MyInfo account.
• See Mr Towers if you need help in making your
  payment.
• Failure to pay the fee means you will NOT get an
  offer for a course next year and make it doubly hard to get in through a direct
  application.

SNAP applicants

• If you intend to apply for SNAP and didn’t
  receive a form on Friday from Mr Towers you need to see him TODAY.
• Forms given out on Friday must be returned by this
  Wednesday.
• SNAP application must be lodged in your VTAC
  SEAS application under Category 6 by Thursday 22^nd September.

PPP applicants

• If you intend to apply for PPP you will receive
  a form today, Monday 12^th September.
• PPP applicants must see Mr Towers with a draft
  of their application.
• Final application is due on Thursday 22^nd
  September.

Student responsibility

Students are responsible for ensuring that they have:

1. Paid their VTAC fee by the due date
2. Completed Extra Requirements for courses applied
   for, including SNAP and PPP
